치앙마이 러이크라통과 이펭축제 (Roy Krathong, Yi Peng festival)

금년 태국의 러이크라통은 11월 6일 이었습니다. 그런데 치앙마이에서는 11월 4일부터 6일까지 3일동안 러이크라통 축제와 소원을 빌며 하늘로 랜턴을 날리는 이펭축제가 열렸습니다.

3일동안하는 이유가 아마 관광객유치 및 상업적 이유와 하루행사로 하기에는 너무 많은 사람들이 모여 하루에 하기는 어려운점이 작용했을거라 봅니다.

특히, 금년의 경우 태국 국왕의 어머님께서 돌아가셔서 불꽃놀이 및 분위기가 예전보다 많이 차분하게 진행되었고(태국인 왈) 사실 불꽃축제는 거진 없었네요..원래는 중국 구정신년때 여기저기 사방에서 터트리는것처럼 난리나는게 보통이랍니다.

러이크라통과 이펭축제는 모두 같은 날 아래 장소에서 열립니다. (더 많은 장소가 있겠지만 대표적인 장소만 소개합니다.)

러이크라통

타패게이트에서 행사, 연꽃모양을 강에 띠우는 러이크라통은 타패게이트에서 걸어서 약 10분 거리인 나와랏다리에서 진행.( https://maps.app.goo.gl/pr3CdU3VJooWHMpBA )

러이크라통은 치앙마이 뿐만 아닌 태국 모든 지역에서 진행되는 태국전통행사니 러이크라통을 위해서는 치앙마이에 올 필요없습니다.

이펭축제

불과 몇년전만 해도 치앙마이 아무데서나 풍등을 날릴수 있었다는데 요즘은 이펭축제로 정해진 장소에서만 날릴수 있고 여러 업체가 있어 가격도 다양합니다만 외국 관광객이 타겟이 된 축제로 인당 가장 저렴한 표가 대략 20만원 정도 하고 비싼 VIP좌석은 50만원까지 해 너무 비쌉니다.

가장 유명한 이펭페스티발은 Yi Peng CAD 페스티발( https://yipengchiangmailanternfestival.com/ )로 금년에는 치앙마이 올드타운에서 1시간 정도 떨어진 먼곳에서 진행됐습니다. (해서 치앙마이 시내에서 보이질 않았네요... 작년에는 치앙마이 올드타운 근처에서 진행해 풍등 날라가는 모습이 보였다고 하더군요)

저는 가격 때문에 고민하다 비싸도 너무 비싸 그냥 스킵했습니다.

해당 행사에 등록하게 되면 가격에 따라 좌석과 저녁식사 수준이 다른데 인당 2개의 풍등과 1개의 크라통을 주는것은 동일합니다.

13.00 Assemble at meeting point Enjoy snack and soft drink at th meeting point. then transfer to the venue The CAD Cultural Center Lanna shuttle leave every 5mins from 13.00-15.00 the last one at 15.00
14.00-16.00 Arrival at the Venue, show your e-ticket on your mobile to register ticket at main entrance. Received a hanging badge,souvenir
15.00-17.30 enjoy activities such as such as,have some snacks,Craft and Art zone,Tribal village,Loy kratong

17.30-19.00 Enjoy Thai Lanna Buffet Dinner,Snacks, desserts, non alcohol beverages
19.00 Enter to the ritual area in from of the great pagoda 19.30.Drum,Candle show,Religious ceremony,Monks chanting
20.15 Launching Lanterns & watch firework
20.45 End of ceremony,Transfer back from the venue to the city

다녀온 사람들 후기나 유투브 또는 사진들을 보면 수많개 풍등이 하늘로 날아가는 모습은 환상적이고 엄청난 경험이라고 하는데 한번은 경험해봐야 할것 같아 내년에 제대로 활기차게 할때 다시 갈까 생각중입니다.

이펭축제의 경우 보통 행사 2달전에 솔드아웃되니 가실분들은 몇개월 전에 미리 표 구매해야 하는 점 참고하세요
